We do it for a living. Black Oak is the team that runs the whole project — front to back — so you only have to trust one.

Most custom home stress doesn't come from the building. It comes from the gaps between everyone involved. The architect hands off to the builder. The builder points at the designer. The lender needs something nobody told you about. You end up holding five relationships together and hoping they add up to the house you wanted.

On a Black Oak build, every conversation routes through us — the architect, the designer, the banker, the trades. That's not about control. It's the opposite of a builder who shows up after the plans are drawn and the loan is signed. Because everything routes through us, we hold the complete picture of your build from the first conversation to the last walk-through. Nothing falls through the cracks between the people who are supposed to be talking to each other, because we're the ones making sure they do.
If you don't have an architect yet, we'll point you to the right one. No designer? We know who fits your taste. Not sure how to finance a build? We'll connect you with people who do this every day. We've spent years building those relationships so you don't have to start from scratch.

Two owners run every Black Oak project. One holds the front of the build — design, pricing, planning. One holds the build itself — construction through warranty. They overlap the whole way, so the day your design becomes a job site, nothing gets lost in the handoff.

Architects, designers, lenders, trades. If you have your people, we work with them. If you don't, we'll introduce you to ours. Either way, the coordination is on us.

The St. Croix Valley has excellent builders. If you want volume and speed, several of them will serve you well, and we'll happily tell you who.
